The Department of Horticulture was temporarily bifurcated from Agriculture Department in May, 1993 vide Govt. order No. A. 11017/1/93 - AGR dt 7.6.93 and became a full fledge department in October, 1997 vide Govt. order No.A.11013/3/94 dt 2.9.97.
